English Tweed & Chestnut Waxed Canvas Sit Mat / Groundsheet

A lightweight seat mat with a water resistant base layer. Made from chestnut brown waxed cotton canvas and a part-wool tweed. The tweed is a high percentage wool and is thick and durable. Ideal for for walking, hiking, camping + bushcraft.

This sit upon mat has a little padding from the tweed, but not enough to consider it “padded”. It will definitely add more warmth and comfort than a simple waxed canvas mat.

I use a tough, nylon thread that very durable and “weatherproof” so it won’t rot.

MATERIALS:
– 8oz waxed cotton canvas made in England.
– Tough, durable part-wool English Tweed in blue and red.
– Strong, rot-resistant polyester thread.

SIZE:
44cm x 44cm (Approx. May be slightly longer on 1 or both sides due to being handmade.)
Other sizes available on request.

WEIGHT: 175g (Approx.)

Ideal to take along in your pack on day hikes, picnics or when camping. Helps sitting or kneeling down when outdoors. To be used as a miniature ground cloth and is very handy when getting in and out of tents or taking your boots off and on.

I find it really useful to kneel on when doing bushcraft in the woods, and often whip it out when I am hiking to place on a damp log or rock and keep myself dry. Also works as a handy knee pad when gardening!

If you would like the mat made in a custom size, canvas colour or thread colour just let me know and I’ll make it up for you if I can. Larger sizes can be used as groundcloth, bedroll or blanket.
